Ciao Robin, Thank you for another great review. I linked to your article from my blog. I hope they make the PC only features available on the Mac and incorporate your suggestions to improve ooVoo.

    Fino alla volta prossima, arrivederci!

Hi Robin, I downloaded ooVoo after I saw your video interview on your blip.tv channel. I'm glad to see that you wrote an article on it, and a great one at that. Some time back you were saying how ridiculous it was that no one came out with a software that can record a video conference. Short while after your complaint sightspeed came out with a paid solution. And now ooVoo does it free. The only advantage sightspeed has is that the person you want to interview doesn't have to download anything. Thanks for your great reviews.

All you need to participate in Oovoo and its various competitors is a Mac with a built-in camera, or a webcam and a headset. The downside to all is that one must download software. That's a problem for many would-be corporate participants, who have to deal with firewalls on corporate servers.

Yes but in that case, if you are at work and can't download ooVoo, and you cant convince the IT guys to let you download it. There is an alternative, well 1 major one that I know of.... it's www.mebeam.com, you can have a total of 18 diffrent people all video confrencing at the same time. There is no software to download/install, no sign up/registration, and it 100% FREE. Now the only downside to it is, there's a small button at the top of the screen that says "random room" and it will in fact take you to a random room, but a lot of the rooms you enter BEWARE can end up being pornographic and a lot of older men, if you know what I mean, but when you go to www.mebeam.com the first page will ask for what room you want to enter, type what ever you want your room to be, such as RobinGood.... then tell your friends, and you and 17 people can video confrence, it's flashed based, and I myself am still testing it, but for free, the quality is comparable to Skype, ooVoo, and the rest of the "FREE" competition all with out a download or registration.
