I have to use for a customer the Wimba Classroom tools, but it's really a pain for the average user to install it, especially behind a firewall...
Also used VNC, I like it because it's Open Source software, but this too it's too difficult for an entry level user to install and use.

It's a very nice tool indeed, and it goes well beyond simple screen sharing.

You say you like its csreen sharing performance... but I would be curious to
know: what others screen sharing tools have you tried and what do you like
about DimDim that makes it so much better?

I'm using DimDim (http://www.dimdim.com) to teach "blogging" and "how to use WordPress": it's screen-share tool works great for me.
And it's free up to 20 people.
Have you ever used it?

thanks for the valuable listing of screensharing services. I have an addition or slight correction for it.

Actually, your table listing on spreed (http://www.spreed.com) is not exactly correct. spreed offers remote control since years and also change presenters is possible. Furthermore there's no limit on the number of presenters and in addition presenter rights can be granted in realtime with a single click within the running session.
You can also hold conferences and webinars with up to 1000 attendees, but only meetings with up to three participants are free.

Gogrok is the one that I recently recommended to my friends. Gogrok is a free online collaboration platform for Windows Live Messenger and Skype users. You can import your messenger contact list to Gogrok and simply start the meeting session by clicking on the names on the list, no set up and IP address needed. Another good program is WebcamStudio for Linux, which will allow live screen broadcast as well as capture through sites like Ustream. There is no interaction however it can allow for screen sharing to 100s or more viewers totally free, and the viewers only need the standard Flash plugin.
