On the subject of backup and storage ...

Online backup is becoming common these days. It is estimated that 70-75% of all PC's will be connected to online backup services with in the next decade.

Thousands of online backup companies exist, from one guy operating in his apartment to fortune 500 companies.

Choosing the best online backup company will be very confusing and difficult. One website I find very helpful in making a decision to pick an online backup company is:

    http://www.BackupReview.info

    Have a look here, too:
    http://www.backupreview.info/index.php?pid=read...

This site lists more than 400 online backup companies in its directory and ranks the top 25 on a monthly basis.

    thanks! that was fun browsing

all the above tools are slick and perform their stated functions well. But they're more end user tools rather than enterprise solutions aren't they? An enterprise solution needs to have more comprehensive functionality. for example someone mentioned hyperoffice in your collab technology wrapup a few weeks back. these technologies offer a mashup of office productivity collab tools - calendars, contacts, file sharing, conferencing, workspaces etc. why dont you do an article on enterprise collab tools sometime!

    Hi Pankaj,
my general focus is on helping the small, independent publisher who wants to
better leverage the power of new media technologies.

In the past I have dealt quite a bit with enterprise solutions, but it is
very difficult to test them properly unless you work in a large organization
and can really test them inside their natural environments.

You are very welcome though to suggest some that you think we should give
coverage too, and if interesting we will definitely include them.

thanks for your reply robin :). i guess individual needs differ markedly from organizational needs, even in a professional context. the commitment is always low, and one can choose to experiment with different solutions, and opt out in a jiffy, a luxary not available to companies.

i was infact interested in solutions for small businesses, like the one in which i work. we are looking to implement an intranet/productivity software. In the days to come, i will be looking around for some good (an affordable) solutions. id love to suggest them to you for coverage. For now the abovementioned HyperOffice seem like a pretty good candidate.
