They are good solutions for consumer level, or very low-level conferencing needs. Unfortunately with most of these tools, all users need to either have an account, or have the software installed. If you are looking to have a larger conference, or webinar, or just looking to be able to send someone a link to your conference and have them get right in without having to download or sign up for something, then definitely check out www.ganconference.com as they have the reliability that you would want for a business level of service.

Good luck,

Anthony

Re: Online Collaboration Technologies - New Tools And Web Services - Sharewood Picnic Jan21 08

I am using ooVoo already . Its really great .. Video works faster than any other IM tools and its super simple to use . I would like to see some emoticons on ooVoo.

Re: Online Collaboration Technologies - New Tools And Web Services - Sharewood Picnic Jan21 08

Very neat stuff, stixy looks very cool. I like the ability to organize everything myself. For video conferencing you should also check out ooVoo which I use. It allows for six people to video conference. My favorite feature is that you can record and send video, which is nice when you're away from the family.

Love the site by the way, keep up the good work

Re: Online Collaboration Technologies - New Tools And Web Services - Sharewood Picnic Jan21 08

Willem,

thanks a million for spotting this. I do test and try out most of these
myself, but you really got me on this one.
I am sincerely sorry about this, will remove this tool from the list and
will make sure that I or Nico will not add any tool unless we have fully
tested it against these negative risks.

Again, thanks a million for spotting this and my sincere apologies for the
frustration I have caused you.

Robin

Re: Online Collaboration Technologies - New Tools And Web Services - Sharewood Picnic Jan21 08

Thanks for your article, but...
Universal Messenger Plus tried to install casino software and other malware on my computer!.
Took me quite some time to get rid of it!
I think you should not recommend such apps unless you've tried to insall them yourself...
