It has evolved into a serious business tool that can help you to be more productive, make better decisions and manage projects more effectively. Check out my Mind Mapping Software Blog for reviews of many of these programs and tips on how to get the most out of them.

Best Regards,

Chuck Frey

Mind Mapping Software Blog
http://mindmappingsoftwareb...
http://twitter.com/innovati...
chuck@innovationtools.com

Re: Mind Mapping: Best Tools To Draw Your Own MindMaps - Sharewood Guide

Xmind is worth checking out too (from http://www.xmind.net/)

Re: Mind Mapping: Best Tools To Draw Your Own MindMaps - Sharewood Guide

I think the idea of mind mapping software is fundamentally flawed: you just don't think the same way when your fingers are on a keyboard or around a mouse. Computers encourage analytical thinking. Mind mapping is supposed to encourage rapid association and right-brained thinking. I believe you're much better off using pen and paper to create a mind map. You might then want to use software to make your map look better and to put it in a format easy to store and share electronically.

Re: Mind Mapping: Best Tools To Draw Your Own MindMaps - Sharewood Guide

Mind Mapping is no doubt a growing form of organizing and effectively managing ever growing amounts of information.

In the past I use to keep records of everything I read using Microsoft Word Documents. I soon found this wasn't a very efficient means of collecting information. I therefore turned to Microsoft Notepad, which allowed me far greater flexiblity. However, there was still something missing that didn't quite allow me to grasp the entire picture or the content I was trying to organize.

The answer soon came in the form of Mind Mapping, which became an ideal tool, helping me to manage and organize information more proficiently than ever before.

Personally, I utilize Mind Manager. For me this is the most comprehensive Mind Mapping application available. I use the software to manage all kinds of information pertaining to life and business. I would also recommend Topicscape, which is a 3D Mind Mapping information organizer.

I have since built my entire life around Mind Maps. I conduct seminars about mind maps, I blog about mind maps, and I sell graphically generated laminated Mind Map Posters pertaining to Life, Business, Sports, Career, and Academic success @ www.blog.iqmatrix.com . Personally, I couldn't imagine how different my life would be without them.

A Mind Mapping software package that isn't on this list that does deserve some attention is NovaMind. It isn't as feature packed as Mind Manager, however it does have great attributes and allows a lot of flexibility. iMindMap is also worth a look.
