Check out http://www.masternewmedia.org/news/2008/06/12/h... for a great Mac software that brings in all of your .MOD or .MPEG2 video clips for further editing.

Just bought the Canon FS and agree it seems to be a great camera. Just hate those .mod files. I tried out Handbrake and it seemed to work great to convert my files to a .mp4 which I could then take and put into iMovie. Handbrake is free and is much easier to use than the other free option of ffmpegx. Hopefully Apple will build this in soon since it seems like a growing format.

    Clevis,
if you have a Mac, you DO NOT need to convert those .MOD files to have your Mac read them. Just insert your recorded SD card into a USB card reader, connect it to the Mac, fire up iMovie and select Import. Unless you have a Mac that is older than 2 years or has an old copy of iMovie (I have 08), you can positively read any .MOD file directly and with no need to convert the file with some inevitable quality loss.
