Why not have a member in the session whose job is to only collate & Jot down the ideas that are thrown out in the brainstorming session. I believe it is still important to capture all important/creative/new thoughts on a peice of paper during the session!

I absolutely agree with the commentator before me: you MUST capture every idea. True, it can take the focus away from the creative side of the brain, but like he/she said, just give someone that specific job.
