This encourages transparency, makes you less dependent on more fluctuating markets (advertising vs. subscriptions), and creates a more sustainable business overall.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I had to get funding for a startup magazine 5 years ago - when the traditional publishing biz was still flourishing.
