I initially thought to find some php/MySQL commenting system that i`d be able to install on my site (and thus own the comments and not depend on a 3rd party storing them for me) such as:http://ratherodd.com/commen...
or: http://www.opencodeproject....

But I wouldn`t know how reliable they would be. i find the Questions posed in this post very important and would second them.

Re: Blog Commenting Systems: Disqus? Its been helping me to moderate and manage my comments efficiently, even while I am on the move from my mobile. This is the best comments moderating tool I have used...

Re: Blog Commenting Systems: Disqus? It enables the post to be more interactive and manageable and it presents blog comments in a nicer, web 2.0ish way.

Re: Blog Commenting Systems: Disqus? If so, that is a great reason to utilise such a service.

Re: Blog Commenting Systems: Disqus? But having a site that has some articles with many comments, where the comments themselves are just as important or even more than the original article, I would be very reluctant to change to the Disqus system, just for the fact that the text of comments is kept apart from the site itself.

I could imagine (and would be afraid of) comments no longer being available, not even as a backup that can be restored - in case anything happens to the Disqus business...

Re: Blog Commenting Systems: Disqus? These days I notice more and more of what I call piggybacking. Things that initially seem like a good idea but are only really riding on someone elses vibes, and in some cases, flat out vampirizing. The disadvantages in this case seem to far outweigh the benefits. Actually it sounds pretty idiotic if you ask me. Good one one for trying it out. It occured to me that perhaps you need a blog site that you use for experimenting with new ideas. Just a flat out crazy space where anything goes. Anyway thats my opinion. Take care Robin. Keep up the hot tech and marketing resources mate.

Re: Blog Commenting Systems: Disqus?
