Autolinking to everything ends up giving the same experience as the annoying SnapShots.
If you do decide to autolink you can disable it for individual links by adding the noautolink class code so the problem of downloadable media can be overcome.
I see the fact that you have to add the apture link after publishing a positive advantage. It forces you to consider the advantage of a link rather than simply adding them regardless, This, I believe, leads to more careful use and thereby to a better reader experience.
Good review, I'm particularly interested in multimedia embedding and linking and I've discovered a lot of possible uses for Apture.
